I agree 2 is the best option. This is what we do in nixvim, where we use a pandoc filter to convert links to/from the context of being on GitHub vs on the docs website. https://github.com/nix-community/nixvim/tree/4b068551d85cb4984fc60268a95097cf7af1ae48/docs/fix-links |

This has been previously discussed, the reason I'm starting a discussion is primarily the issue of how to deal with the doc. I see three options:
/CONTRIBUTING.mdI'm happy to start working on whatever we want do, I'm currently leaning towards 1 or 2.
