Perhaps it is because I updated the link in the original post of this thread, as I had to change from a Teams Webinar to a Team Event... but the old link would have still been cached in some peoples browsers.

@sbwalker Great work on the Oqtane Application Template! 🚀 This looks super helpful for newcomers and makes getting started with Oqtane much easier.

@sbwalker To be honest, I do not totally agree with integrating the editor in the core framework. It adds an additional 7 MB from the Razden nuget package to Oqtane installations (which already are a bit heavy) and makes available a whole set of UI components which essentially won't be used by most users (as they probably have their own or another library), which could be confusing or generate issues.

I understand your reasoning, but I believe it could be handled in a different way. For example, and as mentioned in the Community Standup, providing the editor as a free module in the Oqtane Marketplace, and maybe mentioning it in the README. Or if you want users to kind of use it as a default, perhaps there could be a way to do so in the Installation Wizard. For example, a copy of the current Default Site Template that includes the editor.

Also, for users who use custom text editors (such as myself), this is simply adding unnecessary bloat to the installation.

EDIT: Apart from that, thanks for making the standups publicly available in YouTube, as I wasn't able to attend previous meetings due to the schedule.

A bit more detail about Radzen:

Radzen.Blazor is actually 1974 KB - the Nuget package is much larger because it contains assemblies for .NET 6/7/8/9 - but we only need the .NET 9 assembly.

In comparison, the recent addition of MailKit actually had a far more significant impact on Oqtane size:

MailKit = 1239 KB
BouncyCastle.Cryptography (dependency) = 4757 KB
System.Security.Cryptography.Pkcs (dependency) = 260 KB
Total = 6256 KB

I have spent significant time considering the pros and cons of including the Radzen Text Editor in the framework and for the reasons outlined in my previous post, I feel the benefits it offers are far greater than the disadvantages.
