Audacity enters an inoperable state if a corrupted cloud project is opened. #8005

@kryksyh

Description

@kryksyh

Bug description

If the user opens a corrupted file (see #8008), Audacity does not show an error or open the project. The app is not operable and can be closed only via the task manager.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to "Open from cloud" dialog and start downloading a corrupted project
  2. Wait for the download to finish.

Expected behavior

  • Audacity should display an error message, or recover the project
  • Audacity should not hang on exit after the error occurred.

Actual behavior

  • No errors are displayed
  • Audacity can't be closed
