Describe the bug

Each time I run the CLI, there is a very noticeable (almost 1sec) delay at the beginning. Even when I just want to see the help:

...

real	0m0.980s
user	0m1.189s
sys	0m0.148s

On my rather high-end machine, that's quite lot and gets annoying super fast.
