The ideas of DIGITS (Distributed Internet Geographic Infrastructure Transmission Service) came to me between Autumn of the year 2000 and the year 2005. They have been published here in April 2020.

DIGITS is rather a comprehensive set of ideas, so I decided to start with a simple "spark", according to Episode VIII "The Last Jedi", where Poe Dameron says: "We are the spark that’ll light the fire that’ll burn the First Order down."

The spelling "S&P-ARK" can also mean: it is a project within the "S&P Communication System", and it is an "ARK", according to other stories that are floating the Universe.

Now, S&P-ARK will start by implementing ELSA - the "Experimental Login Server Application":

Once again, I recognized these ideas were still too big for me, on the other hand I did not find a possibility to put the work on someone else.

Thus, I asked a friend of mine to found an association together with me. The founding and the startup of that association (The Society(external link)) took and still takes precedence over the DIGITS/S&P-ARK/ALPES project.

Hence, neither SOMA nor ELSA have been finished and the project is in state "on hold" since 2023-05-03

After The Society had been founded successfully, I asked the other members, whether they could imagine to test the first application of the DIGITS/S&P-ARK/ALPES project (besides other activities).

They did agree to this option. In particular, the envisioned application "Open Source Conferencing Tool" (OSC/AR/ELSA) would realize a use case with a direct purpose at the The Society.
