Epic: Logging buildable & existing tests runnable

# Acceptance criteria:
- Repository based on repository template existing (Bazel build infrastructure, CI, README, gitlint, unit testing).
- Pre-existing source code (no adjustment to coding guidelines needed) buildable.
- Pre-existing unit tests buildable and successful.
