Describe the issue

I have a project with a couple of independent branches. On one of the branches, I want to create a dependent branch below it, and this seems to just fail silently. Creating a branch above works fine.

How to reproduce (Optional)

1. initialise a new project
2. create 2 independent branches
3. on one of the branches, try to create a new branch below

Expected behavior (Optional)

A new branch should have been created below the current branch
