Hi authors! Apologies for using a GitHub issue for this message, but I couldn't find a better way to reach out.
I'm writing to ask about the possibility of creating a Japanese translation for the 2nd edition of "R Packages".

A Japanese version of the first edition was commercially published here in Japan, which was great. However, as far as I know, there are no plans to translate the 2nd edition. An up-to-date, freely available online version would be a huge benefit to the Japanese R community.I and several other members of the community are very interested in creating a community-driven translation, making it publicly and freely available online. I also noticed the recent, similar request for a Portuguese translation in issue #772 .

I do understand the book is under a CC BY-NC-ND license, and that a translation is a derivative work, which is why I'm reaching out to ask for permission first.

We'd love to hear your thoughts on this possibility. Thank you for your time and for all your incredible contributions to the R community!
