MathJax 4.0.0 was officially released on 2025-08-05. Reveal.js currently provides built-in math plugins for KaTeX, MathJax 2, and MathJax 3, but not MathJax 4. MathJax 4 is now the current stable version of MathJax.

Since MathJax 4 introduces significant updates (improved modularity, better accessibility, modern ES modules, …), it would be great to have an official RevealMath.MathJax4 plugin variant in line with the existing MathJax 2/3 support. Users starting new projects may prefer to adopt MathJax 4 directly instead of relying on legacy versions.
