Is there an issue with Backlash OUT if set at 0 ? #57

Hello,

I recently got my EAF so I'm not an expert, but I read a bit about backlash and compensation method (especially overshoot), but there is something I don't get.

My determine my focus to be at 30976. So I'm going there. Now, if I set Backlash IN and OUT to 0, and try to move to 30980 (slightly out of focus) then the image is completely defocus. Now, if I set a Backlash IN of 0 and Backlash OUT of 1, then repeating the same operation lead to an almost in-focus image.

Why is that ?

Is putting 0 values an issue here ?

I was putting them to 0 to try to measure my backlash, but it's difficult because it's acting weirdly (or I don't understand what is going on).
