yaml is de-facto standard for markdown front-matter. It would be really useful if yq supported markdown frontmatter as well, as sometimes it is necessary to do bulk changes to markdown front-matter, be it Hugo files or personal knowledge management notes. There is this tool that supports this usecase https://github.com/mikefarah/yq, but it is no match to jq in terms of speed and correctness
