Ian had the idea to support a translated user interface.

We have done some work on it but didn't finished that due to lack of time and some ugly warnings in the gettext documentation about our chosen old-fashion implementation way.

So, should you be a Guru and can give us a hint if that warnings are really a point in our case would it be nice. We had discussed to add some checks by scripts to avoid such virulent translation files to find the way into our repo. But that would not protect for virulent translation files from elsewhere.

The recommend way looks to me not so lovely and would need again some effort to implement.
