Hello! I'm Christophe Combelles, a software engineer and open-source maintainer with a career spanning over two decades. I work on open-source projects ranging from environmental tech to cloud infrastructure, AI, and business applications. My journey includes 13+ years at Anybox S.A.S., where I helped deliver open-source solutions for enterprise software (like the Odoo ERP) and advanced cloud services. I have a strong interest in deep tech fields such as machine learning, blockchain, and functional programming, and I love exploring how technology can drive positive change.

One of my key projects is Buttervolume, a Docker volume plugin that stores each container volume as a BTRFS subvolume. Buttervolume empowers developers to take instant snapshots of their Docker volumes and replicate or back them up seamlessly across hosts. This makes data recovery, rollbacks, and multi-node deployments much easier for small clusters. I created Buttervolume to help others manage container data more reliably, and I continue to maintain and improve it.

I'm also passionate about sustainability and open data. I currently work at Ecobalyse, an open-source project aiming to accelerate environmental labeling of products by building a life-cycle analysis data pipeline. Projects like this combine my tech skills with my desire to help our planet, demonstrating how open-source can support environmental transparency.

As a side project, I began experimenting with REA modeling some time ago and started developing an ERP engine with a Haskell backend, an Elm frontend, and multi-level event sourcing. I also developed a business model optimizer that computes the shortest mathematical trajectory to profitability for a given business model.
