In a quiet corner of rural Japan, I've long lived a life surrounded by gardening, fishing, my beloved cats, and, of course, programming.

However, in 2024, my family was unexpectedly struck by illness, leading to a significant emergency expenditure of 2,000,000 JPY for treatment. Fortunately, the surgery was successful, and recovery is progressing well. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Japan's universal health care system. I also profoundly respect the professionalism and dedication of the medical staff who spotted a subtle anomaly in an X-ray.

The financial burden this illness brought is still heavy on our household. Until recently, I was much like Near from 'Death Note,' detached from society, solely pursuing my savant-like programming abilities. But this experience has profoundly changed me. I've become determined to use my unique skills to protect my precious family's livelihood.

If I possess anything that stands out from the average, it is undoubtedly my programming skills and the time I can dedicate to them. Contributing to the open-source community, from which I've received immense benefits over the years, has long been a personal aspiration.

As a first step, I developed diffx. Now, I'm also working on projects like diffai and lawkit. These are all crystallizations of ideas that have naturally emerged in my mind.
