I'm a software engineer by both trade and hobby, with 40+ years of programming experience โ I started as a kid on my father's Apple II! My journey has taken me from writing code for tiny startups to massive enterprises, directly and indirectly, across many domains.
Iโve written software for banks, shops, loyalty card systems, medical professionals, as well as tools for development and system administration. My passion? Doing work that matters socially, in any way I can.
- Languages (mainly): TypeScript, C#
- Other experience: 30+ languages (and counting), not including markup!
- Specialties: Databases, multi-platform apps, full stack web development
- Hardware: Microcontrollers, robotics (currently building a life-size R2-D2 to automate)
- Coaching: Motivating a small group of women to learn C#, using inspiration from classic software books and hands-on challenges
- red.web โ Even if obsolete, still intricate and interesting!
- generic-data-access-backend โ Flexible backend for data access
- vacherin-constantin โ Near real-time server monitoring
- donderdagseweek โ Android app in Kotlin
- resume โ My actual CV, built with React
- react-playground, ESP32-Cheap-Yellow-Display, Avalonia.Samples, dash
- ...and a lot more (even Iโve lost count!)
Iโm passionate about motivating and teaching others, especially women, to learn C#. I draw on a mix of classic books โ Code Complete, The Clean Coder, Clean Architecture (go Bob Martin!), C# in Depth, and Steve Krugโs Donโt Make Me Think โ plus hands-on challenges from FreeCodeCamp, Microsoft, Project Euler, and my own imagination. The goal: see results quickly and make learning fun.
- Tinkering with microcontrollers & robots
- Building a life-size, automated R2-D2
- Exploring new programming languages and frameworks
- Socially impactful software
