There needs to be a guideline on what files need to be updated to work with the current tax year. If there was a guideline for this, it might be easier for others in the open source community to contribute and update for the current tax year. These things should be specified in the document:

• Brief explanation of how US taxes work and how this repo makes that happen
• Where to find current US tax documents
• Specific files that need to be updated
• Test to be run
• Edge cases to look out for

And probably more.

The CONTRIBUTING.md does a decent job explaining the development process, but lacks information for specifically updating the tax forms.

I hope that this Repo can keep going each year and one day be the place everyone goes to do their taxes.
