Hi, thank you for your question! So, let's make one thing clear: Viewi is essentially your front-end application written in PHP. Therefore it acts pretty much the same as it would be written in Vue or Angular. Those frameworks use HttpClient (Angular) or fetch (Vue) to get the data. By using it, you can get any data you want from a server. It will act like AJAX in the browser, and will invoke API endpoint directly on the server during SSR. I hope this answers your question. Right now it's not possible. So far it supports only local requests (like get /path/to/API without a domain). There is a feature in the TODO list to allow you to make such requests, and as per your recommendation (I assume you would like to use Guzzle), I will think of something. HttpClient has to work on both sides: SSR and in the browser. And Guzzle is a server side only. What is the main reason that you would like to use Guzzle? |

Regarding Guzzle, I am familiar with one lib and would prefer first to use same lib. Also power of PHP lies in its package ecosystem. I am thinking to use certain PHP package with Viewi. Say for example I want to use Respect validation lib such that for e.g. I have Age text input box which must only contain int + it is required.
I have a PHP class that contain common validation, that will work with client and server both. Also I saw the source code for Viewi. Most of the PHP language construct and PHP's built-in functions has conversion to JS. I also see Viewi as tool to transpile PHP to JS + A lib to make SPA using PHP. So if Respect lib use all language construct and function that are already covered by Viewi then I can use Respect without any issues, right? |

That's right, but there are dependencies in composer.json, I doubt it will work, but you can try. Also Viewi has to be isolated from the rest of the ecosystem (your server app code) and it's recommend not to use just everything you want, but to implement that thing specifically for Viewi. It is one of the limitations that Viewi brings, unfortunately, but it's not critical in a bigger picture. I hope it will not discourage you from using Viewi. |
