Code It Right With Plutus Code : Music & Dance Challenge for Universities/Colleges Students

A. Introduction

  1. We are currently running a project approved under Project Catalyst to onboard 16 universities globally. This represents a unique opportunity for your College to be a pioneer and take part in this impactful program.
  2. Cardano is home to Project Catalyst, the world’s largest decentralized innovation engine, designed to solve real-world challenges through community-driven projects.

B. Aim

  1. Grow the Cardano developer ecosystem and upskill university/college students in Web 3 Cardano Smart Contract development.

C. Objectives

  1. Students create blockchain assets (e.g., Fungible Tokens, Non-Fungible Tokens).
  2. Students create on-chain Smart Contracts with Haskell Plutus.
  3. Students gain basic knowledge of Cardano ecosystem technologies: CIP-1694, Midnight, and Midgard (Hydra).
  4. Upskill students on problem-solving skills and functional programming.
  5. Provide live support and collaboration with the Intersect MBO Developer Advocate Program.Developer Advicate Opportunities
  6. Students contribute to Cardano Open Source Intersect GitHub activities (forks, pull requests, commits, developer experience, etc.). IntersectMBO Job Opportunities
  7. Promote Cardano community products and services (funded by community voting), including Cardano Foundation, IOG, Intersect, stake pool operators, Emurgo, Gimbalabs, and global Cardano communities.
  8. Entrepreunership opportunities via various fund opportunities((Catalyst](https://projectcatalyst.io/funds))

D. Live Support and Contact Details

  1. Join Telegram for 24/7 live support: https://t.me/coxygenglobal
    1. We have established three UTC zones for Haskell Plutus daily sessions:
      1. Zone A: –8 to –3 UTC
      2. Zone B: 0 to +5 UTC
      3. Zone C: +6 to +11 UTC
    2. FreeConferenceCall sessions (login code 676767)
    3. Google Meet sessions
  2. Join Discord at https://discord.gg/RxrhMgnSb4
  3. Motivational incentives based on open-source Haskell Plutus work and related activities (marketing, coordination, group leaders, etc.); figures in USD but paid in ADA/USDT/fiat where possible:
    1. The above figures might be revised anytime—keep checking here.

E. Pre-requisites

  1. Target audience: university/college students from first-year through postgraduate and researchers.

  2. Must have or be studying Mathematics, Logic, Computer Science, Finance, Web Development, proficiency in Data Structures & Algorithms, Full-stack Development, Software Engineering, or related fields.

  3. Very strong research skills and high commitment to overcome challenges without giving up.

  4. Access to reliable internet, effective hardware, and commitment to many hours of self-paced work (print materials & pen/paper suggested if resources are limited).

  5. Complete the Enrollment Form for university/college details (confidential, used for training & on-chain CNFT credential).

  6. Knowledge and usage of Cardano wallets (Preprod/Preview/Mainnet) and secret-key management (e.g., Nami, Lace, Eternl):

    1. Types of Wallets
    2. Faucet Tools
  7. Extreme Abstract Problem Solving (EABS): mental stamina for abstract challenges in Haskell, eUTxO, Plutus, Cardano.

  8. Developer Environment Management: install Linux shell, GHC, Nix/Cabal/Stack, GitHub workflows, Docker, WSL, VS Code, online Haskell compilers, CI/CD (peer reviews, PRs, merges, commits, pipelines, deployment).

    • Rationale: Must be proficient to join any open-source Cardano project.
  9. Passionate learners without prerequisites are welcome and will gain top-tier Cardano developer skills.

    Catalyst Output Expectations

    1. At least 20 students complete the journey.
    2. Each university produces and showcases at least 2 Real World Applications (RWA) using Haskell Plutus—with on-chain & off-chain integrated code on preprod testnet.
    3. Each RWA includes property-based testing and formal source code proofs.
    4. Licensing must be open source (MIT).

🗂 Course Structure

🗂 Requirements:

1. Complete Course A or B or C. A is for beginners. B is for developers who are new to Cardano. C is for Cardano Smart Contract Engineers
2. Course B requires completion of all A modules; completed A modules are credited in B and C.
3. Course C requires completion of all A and B modules; completed A and B modules are credited in C.
4. Candidates are free to start at any level; recommendation is to start from A, then B, then C (commercialization).
