All donations will go directly to our students and their activities. These activities include field trips, gardening at our school site, and many other activities to help support their learning adventure through elementary school.   

Burckhalter Elementary School is a joyful learning community in Oakland for TK-5th grade students. Our school has won awards for increasing test scores, meeting and raising academic expectations, and enhancing a positive, inclusive and caring school climate.

Burckhalter is an integral part of the East Oakland community where it is based. This allows for a close-knit, small family feeling which enables us to build the confidence and self-esteem of all of our students from every walk of life. Through this positive school climate, children know they are in a safe place and therefore, are free to question, learn and grow. We live by the motto "Love Grows Here".

Your donation to our school community will ensure that our students can participate in extracurricular activities like flag football, support our school garden, provide transportation for field trips, and contribute to graduation celebrations for out TK, Kindergarten and 5th Grade Students.
