Customize your hero and dive into fast-paced battles with Torchlight: Infinite—a dynamic RPG built to sharpen your strategy and fuel your combat-driven gameplay. A game for Android, iOS, and Windows.

About Torchlight: Infinite

Torchlight: Infinite is an action RPG that combines chaos, choice, and combat, and places them all in one quickly moving game. It doesn’t do the time-wasting job of being poetic and needing to look complicated. Rather than that, it takes you by the hand and brings you into a fairly calm, slow, and laid-back environment.

It throws you right in the middle of the action where you’re dodging hits, triggering skills, and making big world decisions about how your hero is going to turn out. The visuals do not shy away from that vivid style that Torchlight fanatics may expect, but this iteration of the franchise is louder, faster, and has no problem breaking the rules.

The most outstanding thing about it is the openness that it has. It doesn’t lock you into a certain build, forcing you to try new ideas, without penalizing you for doing so. It’s not impossible to change your skills and modify your passives or experiment with various equipment combinations, things you cannot do in many games, without being pulled down by the game. As soon as you get a new upgrade, it is like something real changes. Unlike the others, you not only open power – you feel it being worked.

There's not much hand-holding here. The game presumes that you are here to figure out things and not be spoon-fed. And it is all part of the charm. It treats the player as if he or she is prepared to create his or her own path and not follow one. Whether you’re here for the fights, for the loot, or just simply for the rush of building your own hero from scratch, Torchlight: Infinite leaves you with the room for customization.

Why Should I Download Torchlight: Infinite?

Torchlight: Infinite is the type of game that requires inquisitiveness and persistence to play. One does not have to be a die-hard fan of the franchise to be able to enjoy it. On its own, it stands up because of a concentrated focus on gameplay. There are no energy limits that can limit you daily. You can play for hours, experiment with new combinations, and squeeze out your builds without hitting walls or being told to come back tomorrow. It is like your time is important.

It allows you to pursue power, though it might seem like an obvious thing, in your own way. You can be all-in and go a hundred on the damage, or you can play around and come up with bizarre builds that no one is trying. It doesn’t tell you what’s “right” – it just gives you the tools and says do something with them – build. There is an entire network of associations between your equipment, skills, and modifiers that come to reveal themselves when you dig further down. If nothing but deep theorycrafting is your bag, this is a playground.

Then there are the seasons. Every new season has updates that introduce new heroes, challenges, as well as reworks. So, it doesn’t get stale. You don’t have to be grooved in the same loop for months. There is always something giving, and there is always some sort of balancing going on, whether it’s just a small change in the balance or a whole new playstyle to throw things all around.

At the end of the day, Torchlight: Infinite keeps the fun at the forefront. It doesn’t hide behind menus. You open the game, you jump into a zone, and get involved in the fight. And it is something more games can take note of. If you are the person who loves action, if you are the builder of characters, if you like things to figure out without having to be in a box, then this one has a good chance of landing right with you.

Is Torchlight: Infinite Free?

Yes, Torchlight: Infinite is free to play. You can download it and experience the entire core experience without any payment of anything upfront. There are in-app purchases, which are mostly for cosmetics and convenience; however, you are not locked out of the content for having failed to pay for it. It is a level playing field that allows the game to be free and for everybody.

What Operating Systems Are Compatible with Torchlight: Infinite?

Torchlight: Infinite is optimized to be able to run well on both PC and mobile platforms. On PC, it runs on the Windows operating system and does not require state-of-the-art machines for good performance. For mobile users, it is compatible with Android and iOS. The controls are very responsive on the touchscreens, and there isn’t a heavy battery drain or constant crashing, which are hindrances. The game is also optimized for cross-platform gaming, and you can switch your devices without losing any progress, which is great. The game can be played with you either sitting at your desk or on the move.

What Are the Alternatives to Torchlight: Infinite?

If what you are into is a series of games that scratches the same itch for you, there are a handful of games available that involve a lot of action, character-rich gameplay, and have lots of builds.

One of the biggest names that comes to mind is Diablo Immortal. It’s based on the legend of the Diablo franchise, and carries the gritty gothic style as well as sound combat mechanics. It provides you with MMO-like features, so you could happen to run into other players, participate in shared world content. It’s polished and has a lot of stories in it, with much lore for those who enjoy going deep into fantasy backdrops. Needless to say, it can get pay-heavy, especially as you advance the ladder.

One of the other games that is notable is Eternium. It’s lighter and more approachable. There is no need to sit down and study some overly complex systems to enjoy it. The tap-to-move mechanics are not bad on the mobile, but it is good that it has an offline gameplay mode, just in case you’re not connected to the internet. It is like a silky old RPG without all the noise. If you crave a slower pace and relaxed system, then Eternium is worth a try.

Then there’s Genshin Impact. It does not drop into the ARPG category, but it combines open-world adventure, elemental combat, and character depth. The art style is more typical of anime, and the exploration is a massive part of the gameplay. The element of unpredictability with the gacha system while gathering characters is something that some people love, while others find it annoying. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful, rich world where the mechanics of the game are tight, and the population of the player base is huge.
