Yerevan Celebrates 2807th Anniversary

Festivities marking the 2807th anniversary of Yerevan’s founding attracted thousands in the Armenian capital over the weekend.

The city traces its roots to the Erebuni Fortress founded by Urartian King Argishti I (r. c. 785–753 BC) in 782 BC on the outskirts of today’s Yerevan.

A concert last night in Republic Square, replete with fireworks and a light show, brought the celebrations to a close.
