bimbo

bimbo is a Static Site Generator created in early 2025 for my personal use (to create windfuck.ing)

coming back to it nearly a year later, i had forgotten most of the intricacies of using it.

this new iteration is built for extreme ease of use, both for new users and for future me, who will probably need to update her website in a year and not want to spend another month remembering how to do so.

NOTE: bimbo is currently in beta status while i make sure the basic functionality is in working order. the basic features will always be free, but once it comes out of beta, i will introduce a $5 "bimbo+" version that includes premium features (like the currently wip "one-click deploy")

basic features

• build websites with HTML/CSS/JS - bimbo includes some basic project starters for blogs and portfolio sites.
• build websites faster with HTML templates - bimbo supports Handlebars templating language, allowing you to keep your code and content separate. update Markdown and JSON/YAML/etc data files to modify your site's contents without giving the HTML a second thought
• live preview - bimbo watches your project files for changes and automatically rebuilds your static site. everything happens locally so there's little to no delay
• multi-project switching - easily jump between different website projects with a single click
• simple tray icon menu - upon running the bimbo executable, a sparkling heart icon will appear in your system tray. all functionality is available from a context menu

premium features

• one-click deploy - when your site is ready to go live, just press a button to upload to your favorite webhost. currently includes built-in support for Neocities and Nekoweb (lmk what you're using and i'll look into adding it!)
  
• more probably? idk - i'm always open to suggestions for improvements, but i'll try to prioritize feedback from folks who were kind enough to support me
