The International Society of Molecular Biology (ISMB) Bio-Ontologies Community of Special Interest (COSI) is a leading international forum for presenting new results on the FAIR development and application of ontologies and other Linked Open Data resources to the latest and most innovative research in biomedicine and the life sciences.
 
In partnership with the Journal of Biomedical Semantics, this collection welcomes contributions of novel (not previously published nor concurrently submitted) research papers in the areas of ontology design, development, evaluation, and the application of ontologies to biomedical problems across the full range of life sciences such as to facilitate access to knowledge, data consistency checking, FAIR integrative analyses and explainable and transparent AI.
