Abstract
The book is a compilation of notes developed utilizing vectors, CAD, analytical equations and a project-based approach to teaching mechanisms for technology students . Throughout the semester a team and hands-on approach using in-class assignments reinforced lectures. In addition, projects requiring more time to complete, due to the depth of the assignments, allowed for more interaction between the professor and students. Highlighted in this chapter are some of the projects assigned, the relevant equations, and sample data. The solutions to the project are not presented. This approach allowed my students to gain an understanding of mechanisms and the design process. Although not expected, some students are well versed in computer programming and developed their own code for solutions to projects requiring a full range of motion.
