Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are hematological malignancies characterized by ineffective hematopoiesis and abnormal proliferation of blood cells. These disorders can lead to complications such as anemia, thrombocytopenia, and an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia. This collection is dedicated to studies enhancing our understanding of MDS, such as, research into the pathophysiology, genetic underpinnings, early detection, clinical manifestations, therapeutic strategies, and supportive care of these hematological malignancies.
This collection supports United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 3: Good Health & Well-Being. The peer review process for these articles is the same as the peer review process of the journal in general. Additionally, if the guest editors author an article in the special issue, they will not handle the peer review process.
