Clara Serra López is a vocalist, composer, educator pianist based in London from Spanish/Catalan and Cuban heritage. She was born in Spain to a musical family and was exposed to an array of genres from a very young age (Jazz, Latin, Flamenco, Western Classical, Indian…). Her love for Jazz and improvisation led her to attend the prestigious Guildhall School, graduating in 2016 with a degree in Jazz Performance. Since graduating she has been performing and writing with bands and producers as well as leading her own projects and is currently working on her debut album. Over the last few years Clara has been crafting her own sound combining her Spanish, Cuban and Catalan heritage with her deep influences in jazz, classical, middle eastern and electronic music. She blends jazz language with Spanish lyrics and harmony, English lyrics with Spanish scales and delves into the use of Cuban and Flamenco rhythms within a jazz and classical framework whilst exploring electronic sounds.
