This document forms part of and is to be read in conjunction with the Nine Group Privacy Policy.

HOW TO OPT OUT OF INTEREST BASED ADVERTISING

Online advertisements on our websites are served by ad serving technologies. These companies may offer you a way to opt in or opt out of ad targeting. To opt out of interest based advertising by the Nine Group on our network of digital services (ie websites, applications etc) on your devices, you will need to follow a few steps as set out below:

To opt out of interest based advertising by the Nine Group on our network of websites (including smh.com.au, theage.com.au, afr.com, nine.com.au and 9Now.com.au), please visit the links below:
Note: This will not stop targeted ads being served by other companies on our network of websites.
To opt out of interest based advertising by the Nine Group on our mobile applications, you can modify the settings on your mobile device or in the relevant Nine apps. Depending on your device, this may be as simple as:

(a) For the 9Now app:
- Go to the app settings
- Select Advanced Settings
- Disable Interest Based Advertising setting
(b) For the 9News app:
- Go to the app settings
- Disable Interest Based Advertising setting
(c) For the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age apps:
- Go to the app settings
- Select personal advertising
- Disable personalised advertising
To opt out of interest based advertising by the Nine Group on digital audio streaming, podcasts or the Nine Radio apps, please log in to your Nine account on your web browser. On the same web browser, please then click on this link.

Even after you have opted out of use of your data for interest based advertising in the manner set out in paragraphs 1 to 3 above, the Nine Group may still collect your data for other purposes such as analytics and research in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You may also still receive ads but these ads may be less relevant to your interests. We also note that you may need to repeat the steps above if you use a different device or delete browser cookies.

You cannot opt out of interest - based advertising by the Nine Group on our 9Now service on your internet connected television. If you wish to opt out of interest-based advertising on your internet connected television, you will instead need to delete your Nine account after logging in via this link. Please note that by deleting your Nine account, you will no longer be able to access 9Now content on your internet connected television and you will also not be able to access 9Now content on our websites or mobile applications.

Note: You only need to delete your Nine account if you use 9Now on your internet connected television and you would like to opt out of interest based advertising by the Nine Group on your internet connected television. If you don’ t use 9Now on your internet connected television, you can simply opt out of interest based advertising by the Nine Group on our websites and mobile applications by following steps 1 and 2 above without having to delete your Nine account.
