How I think about building systems

Performance is a product feature

Query analysis, indexing hot paths, caching at the right layer. Users don't see your architecture, they feel your latency.

Reliability over hype

99.9% uptime isn't a metric, it's a commitment. WAF rules, graceful degradation, and monitoring before you need it.

Automation over manual work

If I'm doing it twice, I'm scripting it. Reduced 60% of manual operations by building verification pipelines and pricing automation.

Thoughtful tradeoffs

Monolith vs microservices, SQL vs NoSQL, build vs buy. Every decision has a cost. I pick the one that ships and scales.
