The finalists are in—and now it’s your turn to help shape the future of the New Haven Free Public Library’s next official library cards!
We invited NHFPL cardholders of all ages to submit original designs for our first-ever Library Card Design Contest, and the creativity we received was incredible. After a competitive first round of judging by library staff, we’re excited to present the top 5 designs in each category:
- Children
- Teen
- Adult
Now, we’re asking the community to help choose the winning designs that will be printed on our new NHFPL library cards this Fall.

Announcing the Winners
Winning artists will each receive a $225 cash prize and the honor of having their design featured on library cards used across New Haven! Watch our blog for a winner announcement in mid-August.
