November carried the SyliusCon momentum straight into production. We focused on stability and predictable upgrades, shipped improvements across the Core and key bundles, and officially moved forward with PHP 8.5 and Symfony 7.4 support in CI. We also showed Sylius in action: the Elesto B2B walkthrough revealed real buying flows, SyliusCon 2025 talks began to land on YouTube, and new Sylius-powered projects launched across fashion, education, and food. With yesterday’s announcement, many of you got a broader picture of Sylius. 🦢 Over the coming weeks, we’ll take a closer look at the product itself. We’ll start with a written 2025 blog summary, coming on 29 December, focused on the bigger picture and key directions for the product. 🦢 Dear Sylius Community, Today, we are sharing one of the most significant milestones in Sylius’ history. A step that reflects our commitment to transparency, but also marks what we believe is a real shift in the open-source eCommerce landscape in Europe – and beyond. Together with cyberFolks.pl and BitBag, we have acquired PrestaShop. Yes – you read that correctly. Over the past two years, Sylius has gone through a profound transformation. While the current management has been part of the ecosystem since 2015, becoming stewards of the product in 2023 allowed them to accelerate its evolution, strengthen its position in the market, and stay true to its open-source DNA. Now, we are entering a new chapter. By joining forces with cyber_Folks, one of Europe’s largest digital groups that manages companies like Shoper, Apilo, Vercom, SellRocket, and MailerLite - we are bringing together two leading open-source commerce platforms that have grown in parallel for years. Built on PHP and Symfony, operating in the same markets, but serving different segments. PrestaShop empowers small and medium-sized merchants. Sylius focuses on mid-market and enterprise commerce. Together, we now support over 240,000 stores generating more than €31B in annual GMV. This scale positions European open-source technologies not only as market leaders locally, but as truly competitive players on a global level. For the Sylius community, what matters most is what does not change. Sylius remains fully open-source. We will continue to develop the project transparently, according to our roadmap, values, and long-term commitment to quality, collaboration, and technological independence. All existing partner and merchant projects continue exactly as before. What does change is the context in which we can grow. By becoming part of a broader ecosystem of companies building critical eCommerce capabilities – from hosting and infrastructure, through transactional communication and marketing automation, to multichannel integrations and sales platforms – we gain practical experience and know-how that allows us to develop Sylius faster, more robustly, and with merchants in mind at every stage of growth. We want to sincerely thank everyone who has placed their trust in Sylius – contributors, partners, and merchants alike. Your support brought us to this moment. We have just reached a new milestone in the Sylius ecosystem - according to BuiltWith, over 10,000 Sylius-based stores are live across the internet! 🦢 This figure does not even account for many headless projects where Sylius powers the backend without leaving a visible trace. The actual number is likely even higher. This growth is a result of the consistent efforts from our community, agencies, and partners, along with the increasing number of businesses opting for flexible, open, and developer-friendly eCommerce solutions.
