The Detroit Purge

The massive loser annointed by Cupich (and accepted by Francis) to ruin Detroit, Edward Weisenburger, has reached a new phase in his Stalinist conquest of the Archdiocese.

First, as Stalin, he found a minority to bully and persecute: the Trads are the Kulaks, who had to be frozen out and, if not outright eliminated, ghettoized. Which was what was done with the most massive culling of diocesan Traditional Latin Masses in the United States. The Traditionalists were the canary in the mine.

Symbolic action was then taken against those who were completely part of the establishment, but had to be persecuted for just being close to the Traditionalists. For instance, those who celebrated and attended the mass of Paul VI celebrated ad orientem

Now, the purge starts. This past week, at least three professors of the Archdiocesan seminary (faithful to Catholic doctrine, but not Traditionalists in any way), all widely admired throughout the Nation, were simply dismissed after decades of loyal service. At least one of them, one of the most admired canon lawyers in America, Edward Peters, has remained silent, and just announced he "retained counsel." We wish him all the best, and, considering the very murky circumstances*, the dismissed professors may succeed.

The movements are evil, and the intent is clearly to tear down one of the most faithful dioceses in America. There will be much more evil coming from the top. Our prayers for the faithful and the clergy now subjected to a  bad 1970s rerun of a horror movie.

*For instance, Josh Mansfield on X says the following, which Rorate has been able to corroborate independently: "In regards to the Detroit/Weisenburger/Sacred Heart seminary situation, what I've been told from people with the connections to know is that the Archbishop did these firings extra-juduically, going over the head of the Rector and without consulting the Board of Directors in the removal of multiple professors. In addition, the other bishops of Michigan are LIVID at the situation!"
