When two albums are scanned for replaygain of a differing genre for the same RG1 reference of 89dB (or -18 LUFS) the playback segue, though technical equal, can be emotionally wrong. An example for me would be Diana Krall - Let's Fall in Love to KISS - I Was Made for Lovin’ You played back using album gain. I would like to either shift Krall down, or raise KISS by ~5dB. metaflac has no option for shifting this reference. Please add an option for shifting the replaygain reference so I can associate to an actual desired playback listening level.
Yes, I could use a preamp setting for --apply-replaygain-which-is-not-lossless, but the value isn't available to me on a per-call basis when using flac as a transcoder within mediatomb.
Maybe --apply-replaygain-which-is-not-lossless could set its preamp value from a new %REPLAYGAIN_RWTRIM% tag if it exists?

See point #5 in the first post. That's what I want. http://www.hydrogenaud.io/forums/index.php?showtopic=15445
