A prayer for discernment
Open my heart, O God.
I want to be uncluttered, exposed, receptive to Love.
I believe your Spirit lives in me
and in that Spirit I live and move, and have my being.
Open my heart, O God.
I want to be uncluttered, exposed, receptive to Love.
I believe your Spirit lives in me
and in that Spirit I live and move, and have my being.
Provident God, allow me to live in the not-knowing
until you gently and lovingly move me to a place of freedom
and emptiness where I can be filled.
In you I place my trust, knowing you will lead me
even when the way seems uncertain,
and fear clouds my soul.
Then, I ask to remember Mother Theodore’s words,
“The way is not yet clear. Grope along slowly.
Do no press matters; be patient, be trustful.”
I pray this prayer with my heart ajar;
hoping, believing, trusting in you Providence.
Amen
