Have you ever asked yourself, "What would happened if you crossed Banjo-Kazooie and Super Mario Sunshine with Donkey Kong 64 AND took out all of the annoying parts?"

The answer is A Hat in Time.

This game is fantastic. The controls are suitably tight and responsive. The art design is perfect. The number of collectibles is just right. AND the game is just fun. It just feels great. (There's also just the right amount of being able to cheese the game mechanics if you want).

I can't recommend this game enough, even after removing the nostalgia goggles.

Also the music is fantastic!

Cons:
-Not particularly a fan of the slot-based cosmetics
-I'll have to eventually buy and play Yooka-Laylee to confirm that A Hat in Time is better spiritual successor.
