I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Operations Research and Financial Engineering at Princeton University. I am an associated faculty in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Department of Computer Science, and an affiliated faculty in the AI at Princeton initiative, the Princeton Institute for Computational Science and Engineering, the Center for Statistics and Machine Learning, and the Robotics at Princeton initiative. I am also a fellow at the Princeton Whitman and Yeh colleges.
My research lies at the interface of mathematical optimization, machine learning, and optimal control. It focuses on data-driven computational tools to make decisions in highly dynamic and uncertain environments.

New preprint Lower Bounds for Frank-Wolfe on Strongly Convex Sets with Jannis Halbey, Daniel Deza, Max Zimmer, Christophe Roux, and Sebastian Pokutta. We show that the known convergence rate for Frank-Wolfe on smooth and strongly convex sets is tight!
New preprint Conformal Prediction for Early Stopping in Mixed Integer Optimization with Stefan Clarke. We use conformal prediction to terminate MIP solvers early with guaranteed high-quality solutions!

New preprint Batched First-Order Methods for Parallel LP Solving in MIP with Nicolas Blin, Stefano Gualandi, Christopher Maes, and Andrea Lodi. We extend the primal-dual hybrid gradient algorithm to solve batches of linear programs on GPUs for mixed-integer programming!
Our paper On the (linear) convergence of Generalized Newton Inexact ADMM has been accepted to Transactions on Machine Learning Research! This is great work with Zach Frangella, Theo Diamandis, and Madeleine Udell.

Our paper Verification of First-Order Methods for Parametric Quadratic Optimization with Vinit Ranjan accepted in Mathematical Programming! We introduce an optimization-based framework to verify finite-step convergence of first-order methods, directly capturing the structures of parametric linear and quadratic problems.

It was great to attend ICSP in Paris this year (back to Paris again!). I gave a semi-plenary entitled Learning Data-Driven Uncertainty sets with Mean Robust Optimization at the minisymposium entitled Robust Optimization and Machine Learning, organized by Aras Selvi and Mengmeng Li. My student Irina Wang gave a great talk entitled Learning Decision-Focused Uncertainty Sets in Robust Optimization in the same minisymposium.
It was great to attend ICCOPT in LA this year. I chaired a session entitled Analysis and Design of First Order Methods for Convex Optimization, where Ernest Ryu, my student Vinit Ranjan, and my postdoc Jisun Park gave fantastic talks. I also gave a talk on Data-Driven Performance Guarantees for Classical and Learned Optimizers in the minisymposium AI Meets Optimization organized by Wotao Yin and Jialin Liu. New preprint Data Compression for Fast Online Stochastic Optimization with my student Irina Wang and Marta Fochesato (ETH Zürich). We present a fast online clustering method to efficiently solve stochastic optimization problems in real-time! This extends our previous work Mean Robust Optimization.
Our paper Exact Verification of First-Order Methods via Mixed-Integer Linear Programming has been updated on arXiv with many new proximal algorithm steps, more scalable formulations, and an exciting optimal control example!
