An image of the object under examination is reconstructed on the basis of information about the optical characteristics of the points of the region with standard, uniform optical properties and information about the optical properties of other points of the scanning region. The scanning start point is moved by a distance of from 0.5 nm to 1000 nm.

We built our image comparison algorithm in a two-day hackathon. Engineers and QAs in a room together, building something from scratch. The first version took 30 seconds per compute. It wasn't production-ready. But it proved the concept that we could take a screenshot, find an element, and determine its location, size, and text. Today, that same process runs in under 100 milliseconds. The lesson I keep coming back to: don't wait until something is perfect to start.
