and Swimming in a Sea of Green
I apologize for my absence over the last 3 weekends. Maybe you noticed, maybe you didn't, and that is okay, I noticed. We could all use less emails in our inbox, however I surely missed the practice of writing every week. It grounds me, and connects me to something larger. I aim to send an email each weekend, and could not find the channeled attention to do so while we were traveling. Alex and I were on a “baby moon” as it’s known these days. For us it was our usual annual surf trip, but this time it was a beach vacation for me since, you know I’m pregnant (29 weeks) and the wave is too big and barreling for a pregnant person.
We take our surf trip in early May usually, between the cool season garden coming to a close, and before the summer garden ramps up. Lettuce and sugar snap peas are being harvested at the time we leave, and upon return the zucchinis and cucumbers are ready for picking. I'm always preparing my mind to come home to “a sea of green”, in hopes of swimming in it vers…
