PORTFOLIO

About

I'm a theoretical physicist (Master at UCLouvain, graduated in 2007), eager to learn and passionate about teaching. I love learning about Web technologies and Data Science.

I've been doing web development since 1999, out of passion. Back in 1999, I started with plain HTML/CSS and the Notepad editor, then moved to PHP/MySQL. I then learned Wordpress, how to create plugins and customize Wordpress themes, how to integrate WP with other systems using webservices, etc. Today, I'm getting up to date with the latest technologies in Front-/Back-end web developments: Bootstrap, CSS grid, Angular, jQuery, NodeJS, ReactJS, etc. On the other hand, I've been learning Data Science techniques (see here).

I'm currently working as a technical/functional trainer at Sopra Banking Software.

I also play the violin by the way, not that it has to do with anything :-)

Projects

Web developments

  • Well... this website :-) — Technologies: HTML/CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap 4
  • Notes application (REST API) — Technologies: NodeJS, Express framework, MongoDB (mLab), Postman (for testing), ES6
  • http://university.soprabanking.com — CSS rebranding (following Corporate rules)
  • Sopra Banking University training calendar — Development of a training calendar (available in HTML and ICS formats) for Sopra Banking University, dynamically generated using web service calls to the Corporate LMS. — Technology: PHP, web serviced (SOAP), HTML/CSS, Javascript, SEO
  • Sopra Banking University eLIBRARY (not public) — Analysis, design and development of a corporate Youtube-like video platform to ease, increase and promote knowledge sharing within the company. Integration with the corporate Learning Management System (LMS) to manage access and registrations. — Technologies: PHP/MySQL, HTML/CSS, Javascript, Wordpress (incl. plugins development), Web Service (SOAP) for LMS authentication management

Data Science

Click here to access my project page on Github. As a summary, here is a list of techniques illustrated in the various projects:

  • Data acquisition: using API's, Web Scraping, SQLite, PostgreSQL
  • Statistics: Hypothesis testing, Regularized Linear & Logistic Regression (Lasso, Ridge, ElasticNet)
  • Supervised Machine Learning: Decision Trees, kNN, Random Forests, SVM
  • Unsupervised Machine Learning: K Means & Hierarchical Clustering, Dimension reduction (PCA, TruncateSVD, NMF)
  • Deep learning/Neural Networks: Forward/Backward prop, ReLu, Gradient descent, Keras, optimization methods
  • Natural Language Processing: Text tokenization using NLTK
  • Network analysis with NetworkX
Certifications

I'm learning Data Science techniques mainly from online ressources such as blog posts, learning platforms such as Coursera, Dataquest, Datacamp and others (Kaggle, DataWorld, etc.). More info on the content of the courses here. To account for the various trainings followed, I'm gathering all the certificates earned through hard labor in the Certification folder.

Data Visualization

I'm also learning how to build interesting data visualisations using Tableau. Click here to access my profile page on Tableau public.
