Going from first-time attendee to presenter in one leap was definitely a whirlwind, but it was an incredible experience. Sharing insights on how we achieved massive cost savings at Delivery Hero by leveraging Amazon Bedrock was a huge highlight. A massive thank you to Milos Marinkovic and Karim Akhnoukh for supporting me on prepartion, AWS team for the incredible opportunity, and to everyone who stopped by to listen, ask tough questions, and chat afterward. Elif Koca hat darauf reagiertElif Koca hat darauf reagiertDear All, Some of you may have heard that last week the Council of Higher Education of Turkey (YÖK) issued a decision to dismiss me from public service, thereby terminating my faculty position. I am, of course, exercising all available legal remedies against this decision, which was taken without allowing me to present my oral defense despite my medical report. I have no doubt that this unlawful decision will be annulled through the legal process. This decision marks a new phase in the process of pressure and harassment that I have faced over the past four years: 18 disciplinary investigations, 3 requests for dismissal from public service, 3 requests for criminal prosecution, nearly 50 legal files, a smear campaign, a ban on entering my research laboratory, and the seizure of my research equipment. None of this has discouraged me. On the contrary, it has made me even more determined. However, I will now have to continue my struggle from outside the campus. My strongest response to those who have sought to end my academic life will be to remain firmly connected to education, research, and scientific production. In today’s world, independent academic work does not require the institutional facilities that had already been taken away from me while I was still on campus. Indeed, during the past week, amid all the turmoil, I have already begun focusing again on projects that I had long been forced to postpone. Alongside my academic work, I am also developing several new initiatives. Science is too free, too universal, and too boundless to be confined to buildings, campuses, or narrow minds. Whatever they do, we will continue to stand together—with reason, science, humanity, solidarity, and hope—and help bring better days to this country. Parker said he had timed his announcement around the public release of Stability AI‘s latest audio products. He wrote: “Now that Stable Audio 3 and SAME are released, I can announce that I recently joined Spotify to support their artist-first AI initiative, alongside Sebastian Ewert, Peter Sobot, Rachel Bittner and many many other fantastic researchers and engineers.
