Mahmoud Sakr gefällt dasMahmoud Sakr gefällt dasFor a long time, we were told that working for “top-tier” companies meant security, respect, and leverage. That if you were talented enough to pass complex hiring processes, you’d somehow be… "protected". Recent events around return-to-office mandates and large-scale layoffs are a quiet reminder that this was never the deal. Amazon has been a prominent example on both points. This isn’t about one company being “good” or “bad.” It’s about understanding what an employer really is: a system designed to optimize for scale, cost, and outcomes..not by any means individual lives. Highly capable people didn’t suddenly lose their value. They were simply outpaced by a spreadsheet. A spreadsheet that only speaks in numbers and regards them as mere numbers. Sometimes what feels unsettling isn’t the decision itself, it’s the clarity with which it was delivered. When leadership says “this is the rule. If it doesn’t work for you, you can leave”[1], it strips away the comforting illusion that loyalty is mutual. And maybe that’s the real takeaway. Not to panic about being replaced by AI. Not to obsess over being “irreplaceable.” But to remember that no title, logo, or compensation package is worth sacrificing balance, dignity, or health. Careers can change overnight. A few weeks ago, Marijke Brommann, Alina Op't Eynde, Mary Wolf and I got together and imagined how valuable it would be to create a local community of determined product professionals to share and learn with. As we floated the idea in our networks, we quickly found the same interest in many of our fellow product colleagues. And just like that, the idea of a roundtable was born, where product managers and leaders from different local companies could come together for an open exchange of ideas, challenges and learnings - and pizza 🍕 Our topic for the evening: Creating business cases for products - including the do's and don'ts, when (and when not) to use them, what they're really useful for, and how our approaches differ depending on the type of product, company, industry and the objectives for creating a business case. A big thank you to all the participants for the engaged discussions and for sharing such honest, practical experiences from your day-to-day work. It's conversations like these that make our product community thrive and help us all grow. I look forward to many more great conversations at our next roundtables!

We might not have met in person, but if you have driven a BMW, a Hyundai, a Toyota, a Honda or a Mercedes in the current decade, then there is a good chance you have experienced some of my lines of code in action! In the last 10 years, I have been building perception algorithms for autonomous driving and I have additionally worked on the next-gen infotainment systems. Away from the office you can find me either running, cooking while singing, or building hobby projects upon the advances of #LLMs! 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜'𝗹𝗹 𝗱𝗼 𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗡𝗡𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱: At #SpiNNcloud, I’m stepping into the role of Head of Applications. My mission is to ensure that our groundbreaking AI inference translates into real-world value for our customers smoothly, scalably, and meaningfully. That means bridging the gap between cutting-edge hardware, software, and developer needs to deliver complete solutions, not just components. Drawing on my experience from automotive systems integration, I aim to make sure that every client can adopt our tech without friction and start innovating faster on top of it. 𝗠𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿: As a developer? my superpower is my “Get it work” mentality which lets me take on the problems that seem intractable to be solved and refuse to back down until I either solve them or prove them mathematically to be unsolvable. As a leader, it is getting the best out of my team by giving them the maximum space of being themselves.
