USF Directory Search

Overview

USF is committed to continually improving our digital tools to make daily work more efficient.

Beginning December 1, 2025, http://directory.usf.edu will be retired. All users are encouraged to use Microsoft Teams and Outlook for their directory and contact lookup needs moving forward.

Table of Contents

Microsoft Teams and Outlook provide a modern, integrated experience that aligns with how we already collaborate and communicate:

  • Always Up-to-Date: Contact information is automatically refreshed from our internal systems.

  • Integrated into Daily Tools: No need to visit a separate website. Simply search directly within Teams or Outlook.

  • Rich Contact Cards: See roles, departments, reporting lines, and availability at a glance by hovering over someone’s name.

Using Teams as a Directory (Examples)

  1. Search Bar: At the top of Teams, search by name, email, or departmentdo not press Enter.

  2. Contact Card: Hover over a the person’s name to view their contact card icon (see picture below).
    Contact card information includes:

    1. Job title and department

    2. Email and phone number

    3. Reporting structure

    4. Availability status, etc.

  3. Chat or Call: Start a conversation or place a call directly from the contact card.

Using Outlook as a Directory (Examples)

Outlook offers the same contact card experience:

  • Search in Outlook: Search by Name: Type a person’s name in the search bar to quickly find relevant matches.

  • Click to View: Select the person to open their contact card. This view is identical in Teams. (See above image)

  • Quick Actions: Email, schedule a meeting, or view organizational details.

Need to contact a colleague in another department? Use Outlook to find their contact card and send a message.
Want to know who someone reports to? The contact card shows reporting lines clearly.

By using Microsoft Teams and Outlook as your go-to directory tools, you’ll save time, reduce clicks, and stay connected more efficiently.
