so the chrome's app-shell CSS activates from the very first paint (no layout shift from document-scroll to content- scroll after hydration). The SiteNav component also adds the class on mount as a safety net (e.g. for apps whose app.html is regenerated without the class), and removes it on destroy. 2026-08-05 (user report: home shows 'Sign in' when signed in): the home is adapter-static and has no server-side auth resolution. The layout defaults `authState` to `{ status: 'loading' }` so the prerendered chrome renders the optimistic signed-in diamond (testid `nav-account-pending`) instead of "Sign in". After hydration the layout's onMount calls `resolveAuthState()` and updates `authState` to the resolved value. A signed-in user therefore sees the diamond on frame 1 and their avatar after hydration; they never see the wrong "Sign in" affordance. See `+layout.svelte` for the full rationale. No inline script is needed — SvelteKit's prerender honors the layout's default state. --> Codestin Search App
