Bicep has a guid function for generating non-random guids, but rather the result of a hash function on the parameters.
This functionality could be a great addition to the New-Guid-cmdlet.

The guid function implements the algorithm from RFC 4122 §4.3. The original source can be found in GuidUtility with some modifications.

If it helps I've written New-Uuid5 that I believe covers this UUID version you are asking for. It would be nice for New-Guid to support this but I'm unsure if the pwsh team are willing to expand functionality for this unless .NET supports it. Right now .NET can only do a v4 and v7 (with .NET 9) dotnet/runtime#103658. They may add support for v5 at some point as well but I don't believe there is any active work on that right now.

Was it a challenge to see how much AMSI logging you could pack into the least amount of PowerShell script?

I suggest a C# cmdlet in PSGallery would fit the bill.
