If you can control the environment strings you can add... These will disable both telemetry and the version check, see about_Update_Notifications. |

Thanks, this works indeed but still it would even be better with a GPO because setting a environment variable, especially on cloud native devices, isn't that easy. You have to either use a remediation script or create an app just to set a simple environment variable because Intune lacks the ability to set environment variables , so far from ideal. But again, thanks for the work around. |

Hi,
In an enterprise environment, we manage PowerShell updates using Windows update, so for us it's crucial that any updates are published there as well as in other channels. Especially, if you already annoy people with the message that there's a new version. This is really bothering us and I'm guessing we are not alone in this.
Can you please publish the latest updates to Windows update?
And can I also ask to think about having a GPO setting to control this annoying 'there is a new version' message within companies with strict release cycles.
