The last release (7.5.0) on nuget is a breaking change, as it removes support for the current LTS version .NET 8.0 and replaces it with .NET 9.0. This is happening in a minor version (7.4.7 -> 7.5.0)
What versioning scheme and compatibility guarantees is PowerShell using for it's nuget packages?
Using semantic versioning, als elsewhere at Microsoft and .NET ecosystem would allow to clearly communicate such major changes (which would mean: doing such changes in a version 8.0.0 or leaving .NET 8.0 in place).
