DropNote is a simple and efficient macOS app for managing your notes directly from the menu bar. This update introduces a major usability improvement and interface refinement.

✏️ Editable Tab Titles
- Rename Tabs: You can now rename note tabs by double-clicking on the title.
- Persistent Titles: Edited titles are saved alongside your notes and restored on app launch.
- Smart Naming: New notes are now named “Note 1”, “Note 2”, etc. instead of extracting from note content.
🧠 UX & Design Improvements
- Cleaner Interface: Removed visual glitches from the tab view, especially the tab indicator bar.
- Better Click Handling: Tab switching and editing is now instant and more responsive.
- Line Limit on Titles: Tab titles are automatically shortened with
…if they’re too long to fit.
Installation:
- Download the
.zipor.dmgfile from the Releases section. - Move DropNote.app into your Applications folder.
- Right-click → Open (on first launch to bypass Gatekeeper if unsigned).
Usage:
- Click the menu bar icon to open DropNote.
- Create new notes with the “+” button.
- Double-click on a tab title to rename it.
- Edit note contents freely – everything saves automatically.
