What is your suggestion?

I had a lot of trouble understanding our plan for Organizations. I've spent some time talking with @Emyrk , @ammario , and @tjcran about defining what an organization is in this product. I've made a diagram to document my current understanding of our plan:
image

Some cases we discussed:

  • What happens when a user leaves the org/site? - The workspaces are deleted (not currently transferable)
  • What happens when a org owner leaves the org/site? - The org is transferred to a different owner

How will this improve the docs?

I'm not proposing we document this explicitly but I do want to make sure everyone is on the same page.

I'd like feedback from those I've tagged above and @deansheather @johnstcn @ketang @kylecarbs as well.

Are you interested in submitting a PR for this?

Sure, if we want to define this somewhere.

Those constraints seem reasonable to me.

Is this implimented yet? I'm working on the v2 docs (#657, pr: #1107) and can create an organizations.md if so

@bpmct I made this mostly for internal use to confirm we are all on the same page, but if you think it would be helpful for the community at large feel free to use this diagram in documentation. As I understand it this document is not out of date with any changes.

@misskniss I don't think this one relates to my work, but I can estimate it.

@bpmct go for it!

Will hold off on documenting this for now until this is implimented in the Ui or CLI. I think we can close
