I am getting heavily into Android development and the Xamarin tooling is really cool. With portable class libraries targetting .NET Standard, I can write 99% of my app in VB. The remaining 1% code is just a small bit of C# to manage the UI and access the Android SDK.

@AnthonyDGreen given your insider's perspective: are there any technical reasons for lack of full VB support in Xamarin? If not and it just a matter of effort, can we in the community do something to help bring it to life this new year of 2018?
