DO NOT MERGE
This ticket contains several random things that I'm working on to get go1.21 supported. As parts start functioning correctly, I will break them out of this PR and create a PR just for that part. This is 99% so I can run CI on the changes and so I can easily see diffs and commits. 1% so I have something to show my coworkers when they ask what I'm working on. Once all the individual parts are pulled out of this PR, I'll close it without merging.
