Does the space get ignored in a chained contextual substitution? #5513

Whenever I use a font that performs a substitution based on the position of the space in a chained contextual substitution lookup, the lookup does not trigger at all — even if the rule is satisfied. |

Thank you very much. I’ve confirmed the issue isn’t with HarfBuzz itself — it seems more related to how Android’s TextView integrates with HarfBuzz. |

Android might be having a word cache, where it splits words at space and shapes each word separately. Ideally, it should check if the font has substitutions for space glyph and disable this cache, but either it doesn't do this or the detection is not robust enough (Chrome used to suffer from this but I think it doesn't have a word cache anymore, Firefox has a word cache but it doesn't have this issue) |
